How does laser hair removal work

The laser passes high-energy light of a specific wavelength through the skin to the root of the hair. The pigment melanin contained in the follicle absorbs the laser light and transmits it to the surrounding cells, which convert it into heat energy. The cells reach a temperature of about 70 degrees Celsius, which causes them lasting damage. As a result, the root cells are no longer able to supply the associated hair and drive its growth - existing hairs fall out and new hairs cannot grow back.
